Don't shop by price alone
Under $50k there are small hatches, compact SUVs and a growing number of ex-demo and used cars that were considerably more expensive when new.
The best value at this price often isn't the newest car — it's a lightly used or demo example of a model a segment above.
What to check at this price
Real-world range for your weekly driving, AC charging speed for home charging overnight, DC charging speed for road trips, and the remaining battery and vehicle warranty on anything used.
Also check boot space and rear seat room against how you actually use the car, not against a comparison chart.
New, demo or used
Demo cars are usually the least understood option. They're often near-new, already discounted, and come with the balance of factory warranty.
Used EVs need a battery health check and a service history review, which we handle as part of sourcing.
